Level 5 Certificate in Primary School Physical Education Specialsm 2020/2021
It is the government’s intention to train more primary PE specialists over the next few years and this is being done through ITT & nationally recognised post grad qualifications. One of these qualifications is the Level 5 Certificate in Primary School Physical Education Specialism.
The Level 5 Certificate in Primary School Physical Education Specialism is a recognised qualification that aims to upskill delegates to be able to improve the overall delivery of the PE curriculum within a primary school. On successful completion of this qualification, you will be able to assist in raising the standards within primary school PE teaching. The qualification is suitable for QT, experienced coaches and TA’s.
Fortius PE are a recognised delivery centre and have been successfully running this course since its inception 6 years ago.
Our next course will commence in October 2020 and we are now inviting prospective candidates to register their interest with us. The course comprises 45 guided learning hours and 96 independent learning hours; the guided learning hours will be 6 tutored delivered by Juliet Rayden, a qualified PE teacher with a strong Primary physical education background. There will be a certain amount of school-based assignments.
Due to the current situation the course will initially delivered virtually with the intention to deliver face-to-face later in the course. This will be subject to the guidance around safely bringing staff together from different schools.
The course can be attended by qualified teachers, higher level TA’s or experienced coaches at the head teacher’s & administrator’s discretion. The cost of the course is £1285 (£185 is the registration fee that we send to Sport Leaders UK), and this can be funded through the Primary PE Funds. PE Premium Reporting Session
Arkell’s Brewery Conference Centre, Swindon
This session will focus on the production of the reports related to the PE Premium. Those in attendance will bring their report templates and we’ll go through all of the sections together. The aim is for PE Co-ordinators to spend most of the session actually completing their reports so they are ready for publishing on the school website shortly after.
This will enable us to explore the sections as a group – answering questions about what is expected. Particular focus will be on interpretation of various areas in a Covid-affected year.
Joining us will be Rik Grover from the Wiltshire Sport Partnership who has a county remit regarding the monitoring of school reports.
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
